How our Eco-Column will be Self Sustaining:

Hello Everybody

What our basic plan is, other than to create our Eco-Column, is to make it self-sustaining. Which basically means that it (including the inside organisms) can run on it's own, other than us feeding our plant water.

Abiotic factors are the physical resources in our Eco-Column, which includes our pond water, in the Aqua Zone, our soil (in our Terror Zone, and a little in the Decomposition Zone for our Worms to survive) and our 'filter' stones which are placed in the Decomposition Zone.
All of these factors are so important, as organisms are unable to live without it.

Biotic factors are the factors in our Eco-Column, which either used to live, or live. (Their waste is even regarded as Biotic!) This, in our Eco-Column, includes our fish (in our Aqua Zone), our dead leaves and our worms (in our Decomposition Zone) and our actual plant (in, of course, the Terror Zone).
All of these factors are important, because firstly, they clear up the Environment, they keep the food chain going, and they recycle nutrients back into the earth.

To be able to keep our Eco-Column self sustaining, we will have to include lots of abiotic and biotic factors. This we have done, so our Eco-Column, in eight weeks, should be doing brilliantly!

Over and out
